The second atmospheric river in a pair of storms will bring more rain and cooler temperatures to the Los Angeles area.

An atmospheric river has made its way to Southern California, bringing rain to the region. With rain soaking Los Angeles County on Wednesday, areas badly hit by the Jan. 2025 wildfires must brace for possible flooding and mudslides.

The weather provided relief for crews working to contain wildfires, though rain over a burn area ups the chances of flooding and mudslides

The first storm from the tail end of an atmospheric river brought light to moderate rain throughout the Los Angeles area. A second storm is already making its way toward the region. The National Weather Service said the first storm system underperformed across most of the area.
