Portland has joined at least four other cities and counties in a lawsuit against the Trump administration's threat to pull federal funding from jurisdictions with sanctuary laws that limit cooperation with immigration officials.

The city of Portland is joining a lawsuit with other sanctuary cities challenging the Trump administration’s threat to withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities. The lawsuit will be filed today in United States District Court of Northern California, and is led by the city and county of San Fransisco and by the county of Santa Clara.

Portland will now join a coalition of local governments suing the Trump administration for executive orders and actions that harm sanctuary cities and states.
