Manchester United are monitoring Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window but have yet to take any initial steps for the 26-year-old’s arrival, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Osimhen was one of the most talked about players in world football last summer when it became clear he wanted to move from Napoli. Chelsea were huge fans but there was no deal to be done. The striker refused to stay in Naples however and ended up on loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen’s release clause is around £66 million, a valuation that United might find excessive. He will command huge wages, preventing United from signing him. United also want to sign a young striker, but Osimhen turns 27 in December.
