The U.S. Department of Education announced on Monday it has launched probes into the U of M, Columbia University in New York, Northwestern University in Illinois, Portland State University in Oregon, and the University of California, Berkeley, all universities that were the venues of notable pro-Palestine protests.

The Trump administration has opened a federal civil rights probe into reports of antisemitism at Columbia University and several other colleges in the wake of last year’s Gaza protests, the Education Department said.

Northwestern University and four other schools are being investigated by the Trump Administration's Department of Education for what it calls "widespread antisemitic harassment" in the wake of large pro-Palestinian protests that broke out on Northwestern's and other campuses last spring.
