The Mexican rock band is the most popular and influential Latin rock band of all time, according to the Rock Hall, which celebrates the history of rock music.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation on Wednesday announced 14 performer nominees for its 2025 induction, and four artists of color were among them. The artists of color include pop icon and R&B singer Mariah Carey, hip-hop duo Outkast, Rock and Roll singer and dancer Chubby Checker, and and Mexican pop rock band Maná.

The iconic Mexican rock act is the first Spanish-language band to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the shortlist for its 2025 class of inductees on Wednesday. The shortlist includes groundbreaking Southern rap duo OutKast, Mexican rock band Maná and the recently reunited Britpop group Oasis.

Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Phish are some the 2025 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a list that also includes two sets of musical brothers who have had public feuds and recent reunions — the Black Crowes and Oasis.

Joan Baez, whose father was born in Mexico, was inducted in 2017. She released one Spanish-language album, "Gracias a la Vida" in 1974. Rage Against the Machine, inducted in 2023, is by no means considered a Latin act, but frontman Zack de la Rocha's parents are Mexican-American.
