Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been appointed as Feyenoord's new head coach. The 41-year-old, who retired from playing in 2019, has left fellow Dutch side Heerenveen to take charge of the club he had two spells at as a player,

Feyenoord have confirmed Robin van Persie as their new coach, a return to the club where he started and ended his illustrious playing career, after a deal was reached to release him from his position at Heerenveen.

Robin van Persie has been appointed Feyenoord head coach on a contract through to the summer of 2027. The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker will be assisted by Rene Hake, who spent the first part of the 2024-25 season as assistant coach to Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
