Seasoned batter Steve Smith on Wednesday became the fourth Australian batter and 15th overall in the history of cricket to make 10,000 runs in Test cricket, reaching the milestone during the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle.

Smith is now the 4th Australian batter with 10,000-plus runs in Tests. He joins the likes of Ricky Ponting (13,378), Allan Border (11,174), and Steve Waugh (10,927). Overall, Smith is the 15th batter in Tests to unlock the milestone.
