In January, the first major snow event of the year, temperatures were higher and the snow accumulation was over two times the amount this time around. Streets were still covered in snow, but because the area never experienced ice or extremely low temperatures, the City of Memphis road crews were able to clear roadways much easier.

Snow is expected to begin falling around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening and transition to full snow by 10 p.m. Memphis is under a winter storm warning where the city could see a few inches of snow.

The Memphis-Shelby County Schools Board of Education work session meeting has been canceled for tonight, Feb. 18, according to MSCS social media. The post also states that Y-care will remain open until 6 p.m. As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no date given for the rescheduled board meeting.
