An internal investigation is underway after video shows Lawrence, Indiana, officers using force to arrest a man they said was being aggressive.

A viral video shows Lawrence police officers punch a suspect several times while trying to arrest him in a Walmart parking lot. A police report claims the man instigated the violence by punching officers before bystanders started recording.

LAWRENCE, Ind.- Lawrence police released bodycam footage showing what led to an arrest attempt that turned into a scuffle. It started around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a Walmart parking lot near Pendleton Pike. An officer spotted a white Ford Explorer parked in a fire lane and pulled up behind it. William Jerome Armstrong was standing nearby.
