Skiing on an erupting volcano certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, but it wasn’t enough to deter a team of professional skiers recently, who glided where lava meets snow on the flank of Mount Etna.

The snowy surroundings of Sicily’s famous volcano were lit up again following a second eruption on Tuesday, as it emitted lava around 3,000 metres above sea level. The eruption appears to have attracted thrill seekers, keen to test their courage and mettle in the face of danger.
