A standoff in Brighton resulted in the death of a suspect and the wounding of three deputies. The incident began when officers were serving a warrant and escalated into a gun exchange and barricade situation.

According to authorities, Adams County deputies and Brighton police were serving a warrant at 20400 East 160th Avenue late Thursday morning. Officials said the situation turned into a standoff, and multiple specialized teams are on the scene to negotiate a peaceful solution.

A woman allegedly involved in a motor vehicle theft ring died by suicide after shooting an Adams County sheriff’s deputy in the hand during a standoff Thursday morning.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said three deputies were shot as a SWAT team entered the unit of a barricaded suspect. They're all expected to be OK.
